Springtime RCA EVENTS
Spring is a great time to come out of hiding and get to know your neighbours. Two of the Riversdale Community Association’s main annual community-building events are coming up soon.
Please save the dates and help spread the word:
First up is our:
Soup and Silent Auction
Saturday, April 30, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
St. Thomas Wesley Church (basement), Avenue H & 20th Street
All-you-can-slurp soup for $5.00, and items donated from Riversdale businesses available for silent auction. This event draws a very diverse group of people and is a great way to meet your neighbours.
Followed by our…
Community Clean Up
Saturday, May 7, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Meet at the corner of Avenue H & 20th Street in front of St. Thomas Wesley Church
Free Breakfast and Lunch provided
We need all the peoplepower we can get, but we especially need pickup trucks and utility trailers. We expect to remove several dozen tonnes of garbage from our streets and alleys. Wear your oldest clothes and bring gloves, a rake, and a water bottle (and a truck, if you can).

Junction Improvement Strategy
Released in 2014, The Junction Improvement Strategy is an important piece of how the City sees redevelopment planning in Riversdale and Pleasant Hill.
From the City website:
The Junction is located at the cross section of three Saskatoon neighbourhoods, Pleasant Hill, Riversdale, and West Industrial, separated by the CP Rail line. It’s proximity to larger redevelopment projects such as the Pleasant Hill Village, Monarch Yards, Station 20 West, and increased interest by the private sector for redevelopment is triggering the need for a comprehensive concept plan for the area.
